Will an under-bed bin actually fit?

- Record clearance at the edge and beneath the centre support.
- Check the bin height including wheels, lid and handles.
- Leave enough floor space to pull the bin fully out and open it.
Put occasional-use items here. Keep fabrics dry and follow the item's care instructions. A low bin is only useful if you can retrieve it easily.

Check the whole retrieval path
- Measure the lowest obstruction. Check the floor-to-frame clearance at the edge, centre supports and any hanging fabric. Use the lowest measurement, not the biggest opening.
- Measure the filled container. Make a small mock-up before buying. Soft bags can bulge above their stated empty height; wheels and lids can increase rigid-box height.
- Rehearse removal. Check whether the container can pass the bed leg and come out far enough to open. Leave room beside the bed for the full retrieval movement.
