Check an over-door organizer before hanging it
04 / Doors“No drilling” does not mean every door will work. Check door thickness, the gap above it and clearance behind it.
- Compare the hanger's specifications with the door thickness.
- Confirm the door can close without forcing the hooks against the frame.
- Check swing clearance, loaded depth and the manufacturer's weight limit.
Avoid hanging items where they interfere with locks, latches or safe passage. Check your rental agreement before making changes.

Measure the moving door, not just the empty panel
- Check the top edge. Measure door thickness and inspect the clearance above it. Compare with the exact hook specification. If the seller does not provide it, ask before ordering.
- Test the door swing. Map the organizer’s loaded depth with a cardboard spacer. Check the handle, wall, neighbouring furniture and full closing path without forcing the door.
- Choose reachable pockets. Measure from the top of the door to the lowest pocket. Count only pockets you can reach comfortably and keep the load within the maker’s stated limits.
